Entrepreneur Connection Program

2016–2026 · 10-Year Partnership

Over a 10-year partnership beginning in 2016, I played a key role in the design, delivery, and scaling of BakerRipley's Entrepreneur Connection Program, providing bilingual (English and Spanish) business training and coaching to small business owners across Houston.

I taught core Launch and Grow entrepreneurship classes twice a year covering financial management, lean operations, sales, and marketing, while also delivering extensive one-on-one coaching to entrepreneurs at different stages of maturity. In parallel, I trained and upskilled BakerRipley's internal coaching team on effective coaching methodologies and adult learning practices.

During this period, the program grew from serving approximately 10 entrepreneurs to more than 2,000, becoming one of BakerRipley's flagship economic development initiatives, with a primary focus on supporting Spanish-speaking and immigrant entrepreneurs and strengthening long-term economic resilience.

Connect Community

HTX Sewn Goods Program

2020–Present

Since 2020, I have partnered with Connect Community's HTX Sewn Goods program to deliver bilingual business training, curriculum development, and strategic growth planning for multicultural sewist entrepreneurs in the Gulfton/Sharpstown community. At 10 to 15 sewists per cohort, my work has included designing and deploying tailored business curricula, providing hands-on coaching in production efficiency, operations, safety, pricing, financial planning, and sustainability.

I also supported leadership with long-range strategic planning. This engagement directly contributed to strengthening program structure and operational readiness, helping position the organization for a major expansion into a 9,000-square-foot textile lab that opened in 2025, while maintaining mission alignment and long-term financial sustainability.

I delivered practical guidance on pricing, operations, and go-to-market fundamentals, reinforcing business discipline alongside technical skill development.

This support enabled 10+ participants to formalize their businesses, improve cost awareness, and successfully commercialize products through community markets, pop-ups, and pilot sales opportunities.
